Flat Henry at Cape Leeuwin

Flat Henry was interested in learning about the building of the lighthouse and about the meeting of the two oceans.

Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse

The Cape Leeuwin lighthouse is where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet. It is absolutely beautiful! We were here on a calm day, windy but only small waves. In the winter, they can have waves that are almost as high as the lighthouse itself!

The Adventures of Flat Henry at the Water Wheel

Flat Henry checked out the water wheel and the beach with us!

The Old Water Wheel

On Saturday March 31st we drove South to Augusta. Augusta is where the Leeuwin lighthouse protects the coast where the Indian and Southern Oceans meet. This old water wheel which is now calcified pumped water from a natural spring to supply the workers who built the lighthouse around the 1900's.

View from Redgate Beach Escape

We stayed at the most amazing place!! We would highly recommend Redgate Beach Escape to anyone! There are four beautiful chalets that sit on a hill top in the National Park. They were actually built in an old lime pit. You can not even see the chalets from below on the beach or the road. This is the view from the living room of our unit (Isaacs).

Redgate Beach

For the weekend of March 31st and April 1st, we headed down to the Margaret River region. This is a vacation area filled with surf beaches, wineries, and breweries. It was a lovely place to spend the weekend. This is Redgate Beach which is right down the road from where we stayed.

It was a wild and rocky beach.

Diane and Donna

Donna has been my other main co-worker on my project. She also helped organize getting me here.
